Good morning Coaches and TM’s,

As you are aware, the current basketball season will shortly end and our Committee are in advanced discussions with your AGC’s on team formation and returning coaches. We are looking at rebalancing a few age groups pending feedback from yourselves and the AGC’s and wanted to provide information to you in order to communicate with parents.

You may receive a communication for parents shortly regarding rebalancing and the plans for the season. I have also attached a more in-depth letter from Jamie (DOC) that may be useful with parents discussions as they will also get an email.

What is Re-balancing ?

Rebalancing occurs when one or more factors arise mainly around team movement and skillsets within a single age-group. In general the following areas: There is a skill differential that parents / coaches require the DOC address.
there are new players on our waitlist (and are looking for a home)
teams fold (several players do not return)
friendship or social issues;
coach availability or movement; and
division rules issues (eg: too many rep players on a side)
We do this in conjunction with you, your parents and any other stakeholder so that it fulfills our objectives of “Player First”
